Apple Prepares M5 MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and New Studio Displays

Apple is gearing up for mass production of its next-generation computer lineup, which reportedly includes MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, two Studio Display models, and even a new budget-friendly MacBook. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, these products are expected between late 2025 and early 2026, marking a major step forward in Apple’s hardware roadmap.

Next-Gen MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with M5 Chips

The upcoming MacBook Pro models (codenamed J714 and J716) are expected to arrive in three variants: M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max. Meanwhile, the MacBook Air (J813 and J815) is likely to use the standard M5 chip.

While these laptops will benefit from the new chip architecture, significant design upgrades such as OLED panels are expected to debut with the M6 MacBook lineup in the future.

Mac Pro Refresh with M3 Ultra or M4 Ultra

Apple is also planning updates to its Mac Pro, which might integrate either the existing M3 Ultra chip (as featured in the 2025 Mac Studio) or potentially a brand-new M4 Ultra processor. This move aligns with Apple’s broader strategy to transition all Macs fully to Apple Silicon.

Entry-Level MacBook in Development

One of the most surprising leaks is about a possible entry-level MacBook. Unlike the M-series Macs, this affordable model may use an A-series processor, similar to iPhone chips. Reports suggest it will feature a 12.9-inch display and the A18 Pro chip, targeting a launch window between late 2025 and early 2026. If true, this could make Macs more accessible to first-time buyers.

Two New Studio Display Models

Apple is also preparing two new Studio Display models (codenamed J427 and J527), expected to feature Mini-LED technology. The displays will reportedly come in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes, with the larger version possibly offering a 6K resolution upgrade, catering to professionals and creatives demanding ultra-sharp visuals.

Apple’s 2025–2026 Hardware Roadmap

– MacBook Pro (M5, M5 Pro, M5 Max)

– MacBook Air (M5)

– Two Mini-LED Studio Displays (27-inch & 32-inch, up to 6K)

– Mac Pro with M3 Ultra or M4 Ultra

– Budget A-series MacBook (A18 Pro, 12.9-inch)
